FRANCE
I had this record playing while I ate my breakfast and it's a completely absorbing listen. I'm always amazed by the 47 minute long ambient title track which ends the LP. It's really minimal but greatly atmospheric, delicate notes on the piano and other tiny shimmering sounds evoke the ocean waters and the end creation can leave you feeling as surreal as the Dali ear on the cover. I would stress a need to spin a vinyl on this one to fully appreciate the layers and depths of sound that Jarre has produced although I'll stick it below so you can check it out. I've also included "Calypso pt 2", which has some great sounding synthetic textures (Calypso was the research vessel for oceanographer Jacques- Yves Cousteau of whom the LP is a homage to).
